Delegate Assembly
In the Netherlands, young chemists, life scientists and process technologist between the age of 18 and 35 are united at The Young Royal Netherlands Chemical Society, also known in Dutch as Jong KNCV. We aim to support these young people with a career events, opportunities to network and a platform to inspire others about the beauty of molecules.
Next to our national network, Jong KNCV also takes part in the international networks for young chemists. Our delegates actively participate in the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN). This organization represents the interests of young chemists in 28 European countries. Yearly, all delegates meet at the Delegate Assembly (DA) on a different location in Europe.
In 2023, our mother organization, The Royal Netherlands Chemical Society (KNCV) – celebrating its 120th Anniversary that year – will host the 49th World Chemistry Congress of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) in the city of The Hague. This gives Jong KNCV the unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to making The Hague even more thé temporary European Capital of Chemistry in 2023. Therefore we, Jong KNCV, are honored to organize the 18th Delegate Assembly of the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) in the city of The Hague.
From the 18th to the 20th of August 2023 we welcome 50 young Delegates in The Hague. We look forward the interaction between Young Chemists from all over Europe and discuss many relevant topics: What is the current state of chemistry in Europe? How can the exchange between chemists be improved? How can Chemistry be brought to a wider audience? What is the best way to support young chemists in their carreer?
