The Jong KNCV Café brings together young chemists and student associations in a relaxed and sociable setting. Each event takes place in a different Dutch city and is organized in collaboration with a student association. Every edition features a new theme, introduced via a short presentation by a speaker from the industry or the research community. Afterwards, there is a fun pub quiz accompanied by snacks and drinks.
We regularly organize inspiring visits to remarkable companies and institutions to strengthen the bond between academia and industry. These activities offer young chemists a unique insight into the many career opportunities within the chemical sector. In recent years, we have visited organizations such as Heineken, BASF, Labmakelaar, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), and Avery Dennison.
The world is changing rapidly. Chemistry plays a key role in this, from climate and energy to health and sustainability. All these challenges require chemists who look beyond their field of expertise. Chemists who are not only experts, but who can also inspire, connect, and innovate.
