Work experience
After completing my PhD research in Utrecht, I began working for Shell in Amsterdam. Initially, I focused on developing new Fischer-Tropsch catalysts, after which I spent several months in Qatar supporting the start-up of the Pearl Gas-to-Liquids plant. That taste of operational experience left me wanting more, so I moved to the oil terminal in Brunei. First as a process engineer and subsequently as terminal manager. Eventually, I transitioned to offshore operations, leading operational support for a number of production facilities in the South China Sea. Upon returning to Amsterdam, I first worked as a Talent Advisor for Shell’s process engineers and the Technology division, and I now thoroughly enjoy my role as Manager Gas Conversion Catalysts.
