Charl van Ruijven

Production manager Kolb

Charl van Ruijven

After completing my higher vocational education (HBO) in Analytical Chemistry, I started working as a chemical analyst in a laboratory. I gained experience at SGS and Shell, where I held analytical chemistry roles and focused on areas such as method development, quality-related tasks, and laboratory projects.

My next career step was a position as a Chemistry Recruiter at CheckMark Labrecruitment. In this role, I was responsible for connecting job seekers with clients, ensuring thorough guidance throughout the application process and the start of a new job. I maintained close contact with various laboratories across the (petro)chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and environmental sectors, which gave me valuable insight into the laboratory industry.

After three and a half years in recruitment for laboratory professionals, my current role came my way. Since January 2015, I have been working as Head of Laboratory at Kolb Netherlands, a manufacturer of non-ionic surfactants based in Moerdijk.

The diversity of my work experience enables me to view things from various perspectives. I enjoy using the knowledge and experience I have gained to help others advance in their careers.

Outside of work, I enjoy a game of tennis, love going on winter sports trips, and regularly put on my DIY clothes.
